After Effects workshop

In the After Effects workshop today I learned the basic tools and steps towards using After Effects to create a movie. It looked overwhelming and complicated to begin, but slowly things made more sense as I discovered what different functions do. The end result was ... 'technically undesirable', but nonetheless fantastic in the sense that I'd created something I intended and learned techniques along the way.
I am particularly inspired by the creative lighting effects - a simple tool which can dramatically alter the piece. I was also intrigued by having the ability to move the camera in many ways - this really brings the set to life. Using the blue screen for the first time was also a fun experience, and one I'm glad to have finally discovered as I've never been able to work out exactly how this is used - I understood the term and what could be achieved, but couldn't work out quite how it worked. Now I know!

Damn, I wished I'd have been there. Work was sooo not worth it.
